Russia Accuses UK, France of Plotting to Give Ukraine Nuclear Arms
According to the SVR, plans reportedly involve covertly transferring European components, equipment, and technologies to Ukraine. One potential option mentioned is the French TN75 warhead, designed for the M51.1 submarine-launched ballistic missile. The statement stressed that such actions would violate international law, particularly the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, and risk undermining the global non-proliferation regime.
Russia’s intelligence service accused London and Paris of being detached from reality, asserting that attempts to mask the transfer as Ukrainian-developed weapons would eventually be exposed. The SVR also noted that Germany “wisely refused to participate” in the alleged scheme.
In response, Russia’s Federation Council called on lawmakers in the UK and France, as well as international organizations, to investigate the purported plan to supply Kyiv with nuclear explosive devices.
