Saskatchewan's Nuclear Capacity Takes Centre Stage in the United Kingdom

Saskatchewan is Home to the Largest Highest-Grade Deposits of Uranium on Earth 

Premier Scott Moe is leading a trade and investment mission to the United Kingdom (U.K.) to reinforce Saskatchewan's position as the jurisdiction of choice in nuclear cooperation. Moe will participate in the World Nuclear Symposium and Canada - U.K. Nuclear Day, sharing the province's expertise across the entire nuclear and uranium value chain. 

Minister of Crown Investments Corporation Jeremy Harrison will join the World Nuclear Symposium after representing Saskatchewan at the MSPO Defence Industry Exhibition in Poland alongside federal and provincial counterparts.   

"Our province has what it takes to be a world leader in nuclear energy development with our extensive uranium resources, nuclear research infrastructure and supply chain capabilities, and Saskatchewan-based businesses and research organizations are at the forefront of the global nuclear renaissance," Moe said. "The U.K. has been a vital gateway to growing Saskatchewan's nuclear sector and I look forward to building on our relationships. After all, it is these relationships that help bring home investment, jobs and reinforce Saskatchewan as a leader in the world's energy future."

The World Nuclear Symposium is the world's premier nuclear industry event, with over 1,100 participants from 59 countries in 2025. Moe will be participating in a panel event profiling Saskatchewan's nuclear ecosystem. 

Canada-U.K. Nuclear Day will feature keynote discussions and expert panels from across the nuclear sector. Moe, alongside Cameco and the Saskatchewan First Nations Centre of Excellence will represent Saskatchewan.

Over the past five years, Saskatchewan's exports to the U.K. increased by 177.9 per cent, from $211.5 million in 2021 to $587.6 million in 2025. This growth has been driven by uranium exports, which in 2025 accounted for 57.1 per cent of the province's total U.K. exports.

In the same five-year period, the value of exports to Poland have increased by 3,503 per cent, from $2.2 million in 2021 to $79 million in 2025. This growth is mainly due to potash exports.
